Recommended 3-star Hotel Close to Takayama Station, Country Hotel Takayama

Hola, it's been a while since I last posted an article on this blog I am The Flashpacker. However, last month I just returned from another trip to Japan, this time with my wife and my soon-to-be-born child (yes, she's pregnant).

We would love to share our 9-day Babymoon Trip experience in Japan with all of you, but the first article is about our experience in Country Hotel Takayama which we booked for 2 nights.


This is a lovely and recommended 3-star hotel to stay. The main advantage of this hotel is its location which is really really close to Takayama Station. I mean like literally close, it would only take not more than a 1-minute walk between the buildings.

This makes it the most recommended 3-star hotel in Takayama if you want to visit Takayama, Shirakawago, Kanazawa and Shin-Hotaka Ropeway.

See, this is what I am talking about. It's really close to the station right? It's literally in front of Takayama Station. You can't miss it and you don't need a map to find it. That's a merit if you are travelling with a big suitcase or travelling in a group, because in Takayama, their public transportation is a rare thing to see.

About the price, I think this is still an affordable 3-star hotel. Of course, you can find a cheaper hostel which is also near it, but for a 3-star hotel, it's worth it.

I booked via the most Trusted Indonesia's OTA, none other than TRAVELOKA. I got a promo price because I booked 2 months prior to my arrival and stayed for 2 nights.

Like most of the 3-star hotels, the facilities are complete. However, the breakfast is not included, because the price we paid is for a room-only.

For an Economy Double Room, these are the facilities:

4. LCD TV (you need to pay an extra to watch the channel)

COUNTRY HOTEL TAKAYAMA REVIEW

For someone who travels with a pregnant wife, this hotel is really helpful in many ways.

Here's a list what I carried at that time:

1. 2 suitcases
2. 2 backpacks
3. 1 neck pillow
4. 2 small bags

Yeah, it's really helpful and I mean it. Imagine if I had to find another hotel which may be cheaper but a bit far from the station and on top of that it's freaking cold due to the snow.

The building is quite tall, maybe about 7 to 8 levels. The lobby itself is on the 2nd floor. The check-in process quite seamless. I only offered our Passports and the staff recognized it as a Traveloka's customers. The staffs really have a good manner (typically Japanese) and also helpful.Oh yeah, they offered breakfast package, but when I saw the menu it's a Non-Halal menu, so I declined it.

We got a room on the 6th floor, don't worry they have a lift. The room is a bit crampy, maybe about the size of a studio apartment (maybe a bit smaller). However, we got a room with a good view of the town and due to the snowy outside, it had wonderful views.

The bathroom which also works as a toilet and a shower room is really small. Oh yeah, the toilet is a Western Style and it's an Electric Toilet, which is common in Japan.

Besides its location, another advantage of this hotel is on the 1st floor (or Ground floor), there's a convenience store called Family Mart. This is really helpful if you want to save your budget on foods.




There you go, we hope our 2-day experience stayed in Country Hotel Takayama is helpful for you. If we have another chance to visit Takayama, we will definitely choose this hotel again. I think maybe we will, because we haven't had the chance to visit Kanazawa and Shin-Hotaka Ropeway.
